Canada Parent and Grandparent Super Visa
A Super Visa is a temporary resident visa that is designated to only parents/grandparents.
It allows parents and grandparents to stay for five (5 years) at a time and it is valid for 10 years.
In order to qualify for a Super Visa, you must provide the following:
- You must prove your relationship to the parent or grandparents and must be a permanent resident or Canadian Citizen
- You must provide a birth certificate that shows the name of the parent or grandparent who you are inviting
- A medical examination must be completed to prove that you are not inadmissible based on health grounds
- You must have medical insurance from a Canadian Company that is valid for one year from the day that you enter Canada and it must have a minimum coverage of at least $100,000.00 It must
- The child or grandchild must sign and date a written invitation letter which states how many people reside in their household, that they will financially support the parent or grandparent for the duration of their stay, and attach a copy of their permanent resident card or Canadian passport.
- The child or grandchild must show financial proof by meeting LICO (Low-income-cut-off) requirements. They can prove this through their notice of assessment for the recent taxation year, a letter from their employer indicating their job description and salary, bank statements.

Biometrics:
Biometrics are only done by visitor-required foreign nationals. Visa-exempt foreign nationals do not need to give their biometrics for a supervisa.
Port-of-entry:
The Super Visa does allow the parent or grandparent to stay for five (5) years, however if an immigration officer decides to provide a duration less than five (5) years, then a visitor record must be provided.
